Parque das Nações in Lisbon – What to Do and Where to Go

There are so many activities and places to explore in Parque das Nações that a single article just isn’t enough!

Parque das Nações in Lisbon is a highly intriguing area. It’s one of the most expensive per square meter in the district. Developed for the 1998 World Expo (Expo ’98) with the theme “The Oceans: A Heritage for the Future,” the area was revitalized after the event and has since become a permanent attraction. Here are some suggestions for your visit:

Torre Vasco da Gama: This iconic tower, standing at 145 meters, is the tallest building in Portugal. At the top, you’ll find the restaurant Fifty Seconds and the Vasco da Gama Tower Babylon 360º viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the Tagus River. We visited and enjoyed a drink at sunset—an unforgettable experience.

Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour: This tourist bus circuit is a great way to see Lisbon’s main attractions. It’s an efficient way to explore the city and save time.

Oceanário de Lisboa: One of the park’s most popular attractions, this is one of Europe’s largest and most impressive aquariums, showcasing a wide array of marine life.

Teleférico: The park features a cable car offering breathtaking panoramic views of the area, providing a unique experience as you glide over the Tagus River.

Lisbon Sunset Cruise: Enjoy a sunset cruise on the Tagus River, complete with a welcome drink. It’s a relaxing way to see the city from a different perspective.
