Did you know that the Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited monuments in the world?

The Eiffel Tower is the most visited paid monument in the world and the symbol of Paris

The Eiffel Tower, affectionately known as the Iron Lady, is one of the most famous and visited monuments in the world, and an iconic symbol of the capital, Paris, in France.

Since its inauguration in 1889, the Eiffel Tower has welcomed millions of local and international tourists. It is impossible to think of Paris and not immediately have the image of the Eiffel Tower come to mind.

The Eiffel Tower was built as a landmark for the Paris Universal Exposition of 1889, which celebrated the centenary of the French Revolution. The French engineer Gustave Eiffel led the design and construction team for the tower, which was completed in two years and two months. Furthermore, if you go up to the Cupola (the Dome), the highest part of the tower, you will see wax figures and what the office where Gustave Eiffel’s team worked looked like.

The Eiffel Tower, made of wrought iron, is approximately 330 meters tall and weighs over 10,000 tons. At the time of its construction, the Eiffel Tower was the tallest structure in the world and remained so for over 40 years.

During the summer, the Eiffel Tower expands a few centimeters due to high temperatures. Summer in Paris is dry, and when there’s a heatwave, ooh la la, it really is hot! There are spray misting systems with water jets and fans for those waiting in line to access the elevators.

Initially, many Parisians were against the construction of the Eiffel Tower, considering it a metal monster that would spoil the beauty of the city (can you believe it?). However, the tower eventually became a great success and an icon not only of Paris but of all of France.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions, receiving millions of visitors every year. There’s a video on the Vamu Ver! Viagem channel, where we walked from Montparnasse to the Eiffel Tower to watch it light up. It’s one of my favorites on the channel. Besides, I might be biased when complimenting it because I just love Paris!

The Eiffel Tower is so tall that its height varies according to the temperature? On hot days, it can measure up to 15 centimeters (6 inches) more than on cold days. It’s possible to find replicas of the Eiffel Tower in various places around the world, including one at the Barra World Shopping in Rio de Janeiro, and we made a video there.

Buy your ticket in advance

Buying your ticket for the Eiffel Tower in advance through a reliable platform like Get Your Guide is the golden tip for an unforgettable and stress-free visiting experience. As the most visited paid attraction in the world, the queues for the Eiffel Tower are legendary, and depending on the day, gigantic. But, by securing your ‘Eiffel Tower Ticket with Optional Summit Access’ in advance, you guarantee your place and avoid hours of waiting at the ticket offices. This is because there is one line to buy the ticket and another for the entrance and ascent to the tower.

For years, I have always bought tickets for the activities offered by Get Your Guide, which is recognized as one of the main tourism platforms. This simplifies the booking process, allowing you to choose the ideal time that fits your trip.

Eiffel Tower Ticket with Optional Summit Access

This activity offers fast elevator access to the 1st and 2nd floors of the Eiffel Tower, where you will enjoy stunning panoramic views of the City of Light. For maximum thrill, choose the option with Summit access and reach the highest point of the tower, at 330 meters (1,083 feet) high, for a breathtaking view over the city of Paris.

Option to ascend to the Summit for the highest view of Paris (it’s worth it)

The guide will meet you at the meeting point to check your ticket and provide instructions.

Enjoy visiting the different levels of the tower at your own pace, including the famous glass floor on the 1st floor (which is really cool!)

Download the app on your cell phone, select the date and time for your visit to the Eiffel Tower. You will then receive your voucher by email, and it will also be available on the app. You do not need to print the ticket; simply present the electronic ticket or the QR code for the activity, and that’s it, and voilà! Ah, Paris! Je t’aime (I love you). Click here to book your Eiffel Tower ticket.
